Plant care

Keep it thriving

Practical guides for the plants we grow — light, water, soil and the small adjustments that make the difference.

Start here

The four that matter most

  1. Light before anything else

Bright, indirect light suits nearly every aroid we sell. Direct midday sun scorches; deep shade stalls growth and invites rot.

  2. Water the soil, not the calendar

Check the top few centimetres. Water thoroughly when they are dry, then let the excess drain away completely.

  3. Airy soil, always

Bark, perlite and coco mixed into the medium keep roots oxygenated. Dense potting soil is the most common cause of loss.

  4. Feed in the growing season

A diluted balanced feed every few waterings from spring to early autumn. Rest through winter.
